How to Overcome Self-doubt in 30 Seconds

EFT Tapping for Business Success

Self-doubt is a total dream killer.

I can assure you, self-doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.

We fear failure so much, and so when there is even a 1% chance of failure happening, we increase it to 79% by simply doubting ourselves.

But it’s not about how much or how little you doubt yourself, but what you do with those feelings.

So many of us are allowing self-doubt to stop us dead in our tracks. Instead try these 3 steps next time you hear that inner critic pop up with doubtful questions & self-sabotaging thoughts.

1) NOTICE THE SELF-DOUBT

Start paying attention to that inner voice, aka your imposter!

Becoming consciously aware of your Imposter is the hardest part of tackling self-doubt as it involves you becoming an observer of your own thoughts, BUT, if you can crack it, you will begin to finally understand the lack of truth behind your inner doubtful chatter.

Even now, as you’re reading this, you’re becoming more aware of self-doubt. Keep listening out for those imposter thoughts that have been stuck on auto-pilot.

2) SHIFT SELF-DOUBT

Next time you consciously catch yourself doubting your talents, skills & authority, the next step is to interrupt that thought and bring yourself to the present moment.

You can do this by literally saying out loud “oh hey imposter, I recognise you, I hear you.”

Make the ultimate shift by then focusing on your positives or your achievements, or reel off a gratitude list in your head.

3) REWIRE!

Rewire the thought by spending 20 seconds intensely in this present moment, reinforcing the positive change you just made at the level of neurobiology.

For example, let’s say you’re about to do a client call with a brand new high-ticket client.

But self-doubt begins to fill your head with thoughts such as “I can’t coach this person, I’m not qualified enough…” You would:

1️. Try to notice the thought

2️. Shift it by saying “oh hey imposter 👋🏻 I hear you chatting away…”

3️. Rewire it by focusing on present positives:

“…however I truly deserve to be coaching this person because I am an incredibly gifted coach”

“I am extremely skilled at facilitating coaching conversations”

“My passion alone is reason enough to be on this call”

“I am extremely grateful to hold space for my clients so that we can have these deep transformational conversations”

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to coach this person”

“I’m really excited to learn more about this new client”

“…And regardless of the outcome, at this moment, I am safe, supported and well”

TIP: If self-doubt is creeping up A LOT for you, if it feels like your imposter is gatecrashing every moment right now, I recommend writing out a list of your achievements, qualities and values, and when it comes to step three, try reading this list to your imposter 👌🏻
