3 Questions to Determine if Your Business is Successful?

how to invest in yourself

How do you know if your business is successful? Is it based on the number of customers or clients you have? Or maybe the very first goals you set yourself? Oh wait, surely it’s your monthly sales report, right?

Yup, debating your success can be very overwhelming. I will admit that quite often I find myself measuring my success on other people’s expectations of me or other people’s definition of success. Especially in the entrepreneurial world where it feels like everyone’s Instagram posts are some sort of reference to a six-figure month or a record-breaking product launch.

Whilst I love to celebrate and applaud my fellow female entrepreneurs, I’m often left thinking, Wait, is record-breaking six-figure launches the REAL definition of success?

The BIG problem with chasing success that is based on someones else’s value or definition, is it basically means you will never be successful. Not if we’re trying to live up to someone else’s expectations.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have BIG goals ahead of me – big monthly money goals, more launches, more automation, ooooh and a team one day – but if I start comparing myself to others and where they are on their journey, or I start downplaying all my hard work so far and labelling it as ‘not good enough’ I’m being very harsh on myself. That’s not very motivating or empowering.

But, how do you know if your business is successful? What is the REAL definition of success?

REMINDER: Success looks different for everyone!

I have that the best way to tell is to answer the 3 below questions. These days, if I find myself doubting me and my biz, I bring myself back to these 3 simple questions:

How do you know if your business is successful?

How do you know if your business is successful?

1. Why did I start my business?
2. Is the biz fulfilling the above?
3. Am I happy?

Just by asking myself these three questions, I feel so much more joy, and I feel so grounded, vs chasing the expectations and goals set for me by others.

Here is how I usually answer these questions:

1. To break FREE from the 9-5 office job and have a career that challenges me, one that I’m passionate about. A career that allows me to help and empower women to go after what they want.
2. Yes!
3. Hell Yes

When I took that first step towards leaving my office job, it was because I no longer desired the 9-5 life. I didn’t want to wake up to drag myself into an office to do work I wasn’t passionate about.

I wanted to wake up when I desired to wake up, start work when I desired to start work. I wanted a career that fulfilled me and challenged me.

These days, if I doubt myself or have an ‘am I successful?’ moment of panic, I remind myself that I am free. I have my schedule created by me. I get to work I’m passionate about, work that really matters to me. I’m free.

A few years ago I could only dream of the type of freedom I have now. And weirdly I had it all along ❤️

SO DO YOU!

You’re freedom is waiting for you, you’ve even got the key, inside you. The question is, are you ready to unlock it? 🔑💌
