Can you build an email list without a website? YES! You don’t need a fancy sales page on your website, or an over complicated funnel to grow your email list.

Earlier this week, I gained a massive 159 new subscribers to my email list in just 48 hours (around 222 for the whole week), by using a strategy so simple, it’s almost genius.

No coding, no website drama – just a little creativity, the right tools, and platforms that work with you, not against you.

Ready to learn how I did it? Let me break it down for you.

Why You Don’t Need a Website to Build an Email List

First of all, building an email list from scratch – or growing your existing email list – doesn’t have to be overwhelming, or expensive.

Don’t get me wrong, a website is great, I love this blog – but getting bogged down in back-end website strategy is not essential to grow an email list.

With tools like Stan Store, you can create a sleek landing page to promote your offers in minutes. Stan Store has been a game-changer for creators and solopreneurs, offering everything you need to convert an audience (without the headache of managing a full site or funnel).

How to Build an Email List Without a Website

Here’s exactly what I did to build an email list without a website, and welcome 159 fresh faces onto my email list in 48 hours. Here’s the step by step.

1. I Created an AMAZING Free Masterclass

People love free value, and a live masterclass is one of the best ways to offer it. My masterclass was scheduled for two weeks out, giving me plenty of time to promote it. The best part? I didn’t need to use my website to set that up either. I used my Stan Store to create a simple, professional sign-up page for a live webinar.

Not only did this page collect sign-ups, but it also synced with my email marketing platform (more on that in a second) to ensure every registrant went straight onto my list and had an automated email sequence set up.

2. Promoting the Masterclass

To maximise sign-ups – and email subscribers – I focused on platforms where I already have an engaged audience.

Here’s where I promoted the masterclass:

  • TikTok Feed: I created a short-form video announcing I was doing a masterclass, I used a bit of sassy text that I knew would grab attention and made it clear there was a free masterclass available for my audience to get booked into.
  • TikTok Stories:
Since deleting Instagram, I’ve found TikTok Stories to be a breath of fresh air – they don’t come with the pressure to post constantly throughout the day. So to promote the masterclass, I shared a fun, engaging story about it. When the first round of seats sold out, I received a comment saying: “It says there’s no more seats 😭 Is this true? I’d love to attend this masterclass.” I decided to open up more seats and shared a screenshot of the comment in my Stories to highlight the demand. Then, I announced that additional spots had been added, creating even more excitement and urgency.
  • TikTok Live:
TikTok Lives are a goldmine for promoting free masterclasses. They attract both loyal followers and new viewers who discover you on their FYP. Lives allowed me to engage directly with my audience, answer questions, and encourage sign-ups in real-time.
  • Private Telegram Group:
While my free private Telegram group includes some of my most loyal community members who are already on my email list, it’s also a space where new people can come and go. I don’t collect email addresses when people join – it’s an open space where anyone can access it freely and leave whenever they choose. So when I shared my free masterclass in the group, it attracted fresh leads and brought new email subscribers onto my list.

What About Pinterest?

While Pinterest is a major platform for my business (it’s my marketing bestie) I don’t typically promote time-sensitive products there.

Since pins often take time to gain traction, it’s not ideal for short-term events like a live masterclass. However, if I turn the masterclass into an evergreen lead magnet, Pinterest will absolutely be part of my strategy.

3. Automating the Process with Stan Store, Zapier and MailerLite

Can you imagine if every time someone signed up I had to send them a calendar invite, or manually add them from my Stan Store customers to my email list – no thank you!

So here’s where the REAL magic happens. Using Zapier, I set up an automation to connect Stan Store with MailerLite, my email marketing platform. This means that every time someone signed up for the masterclass, their email address was automatically added to my list, and not just my list, but a certain segment of my email list.

No manual input. No spreadsheets. Just seamless integration.

Want to learn how to set up automations like this? I cover it all in my premium course, Freedom Funnel, which is included when you start a subscription to the Visibility Vault. The vault features premium programmes worth over £3,000. And the best part? You can access it all today for just £97!

Tools You Need to Build an Email List Without a Website

Here’s everything I used to make this happen:

  • Stan Store: For creating the masterclass landing page and sign-up process and automating calendar invites and reminders.
  • MailerLite: My email marketing platform of choice, known for its user-friendly interface.
  • Zapier: To automate the connection between Stan Store and MailerLite.

All of these tools are beginner-friendly and perfect for anyone looking to learn how to build an email list for free (or close to it).

Why This Strategy Works

  1. Low Barrier to Entry: No website means no tech stress.
  2. Audience First: I tapped into an engaged audience by promoting the class on platforms where I already had a presence.
  3. Automation: Zapier handled the back-end, so I could focus on creating content and engaging with my audience.

Other Tips for Growing an Email List Without a Website

If you’re serious about growing your email list but aren’t ready to commit to a website, here are a few extra strategies to supercharge your email list growth:

Your link-in-bio real estate is precious – don’t waste it! Instead of linking to a homepage, direct your audience to a specific lead magnet.

A freebie works wonders for building your list, as it provides value upfront in exchange for an email address.

What’s a good lead magnet idea?

  • A free ebook or checklist (e.g., “10 Easy Email List Growth Hacks”)
  • A swipe file (e.g., “My 5 Best Email Subject Lines for 50%+ Open Rates”)
  • A free training or webinar (like the evergreen masterclass mentioned above)

Pro Tip: Use Stan Store to host your lead magnet. It’s quick, easy, and integrates beautifully with email platforms like MailerLite.

2) Using Pinterest to Promote an Evergreen Masterclass

As i mentioned above, if you’ve already recorded a live masterclass, turning it into an evergreen offer is one of the smartest moves you can make!

Not only does it continue to attract leads on autopilot, but Pinterest is the perfect platform to drive long-term traffic to your evergreen content. Here’s how to do it step by step:

Step 1: Create a Dedicated Sign-Up Page

Just like with my live masterclass, you can use Stan Store to create a landing page for your evergreen class. Keep it clean and persuasive, with a strong headline, a clear list of benefits, and a call to action (CTA) that stands out.

Step 2: Design Pin-Worthy Graphics

Pinterest is a visual search engine, so your graphics need to stand out.

  • Use attention-grabbing headlines: Try and hook your audience in with a juicy headline. For example, rather than just saying ‘5 ways to lose weight’, you might create a pin that says ‘Do THIS one thing, if you want to drop 10 lbs’.
  • High-quality images: Make sure to use clear, high-quality images and not grainy images or low-res photos. You can use free stock images or canvas has a whole library.

Step 3: Optimise Pin Descriptions

Pinterest isn’t just about visuals – it’s also a search engine. Use SEO-friendly titles and descriptions to make your pins discoverable. Do keyword research and make sure to add the keywords to the pin title, the pin description and the ‘alt text’ section too if you can.

Step 4: Pin Strategically
  • Group boards: Share your pins in niche-relevant group boards. For example, boards about email marketing, solopreneur tips, or digital business growth.
  • Schedule pins: Use a scheduler like Tailwind to ensure your pins are posted consistently.
  • Repin frequently: Don’t let your content sit idle. Repin your top-performing evergreen masterclass pins every few weeks to keep them fresh and visible.

Step 5: Convert Traffic to Your Email List

Make sure your sign-up page is optimised to convert viewers into subscribers by:

  • Offering a clear value proposition.
  • Displaying social proof, like testimonials from previous attendees.
  • Adding an FAQ section to address objections.

When used correctly, Pinterest isn’t just a traffic driver; it’s a lead-generation machine. Start pinning, and let your evergreen masterclass work for you 24/7.
